Encephalitis

Inflammation of the brain is primary and secondary. Encephalitis is of the same nature as meningitis (see), but it is even more severe. The reason for them is most often the penetration of a virus that is transmitted by a tick (encephalitis taiga) or a mosquito that selectively affects the tissue of the human brain. Secondary encephalitis, both diffuse and limited (see Abscess of the brain), most often occur with purulent processes in the body.
Symptoms and course:
Characterized by an increasing headache, drowsiness, photophobia, convulsive attacks, paralysis and paresis of the limbs, delirium, excitement, nausea, vomiting, as a result of which the coma develops and the patients die.
Recognition and treatment - see Encephalitis taiga, head of Infectious Diseases.
