Endometritis

Inflammation of the mucous membrane of the uterus. It is caused by pyogenic microbes, possibly with microbacteria of tuberculosis. Most often associated with postabortion infection, but can develop after menstruation, intra-uterine manipulation (scraping, probing the uterine cavity, etc.). Necrosis of the endometrium leads to its rejection, bleeding, the appearance of liquid purulent-bloody leucorrhoea. The process can spread to myometrium (the muscular layer of the uterus) with the development of metritis or metroendometrita.
Symptoms and course:
Elevated temperature, general malaise, pain in the lower abdomen, purulent-sacral leucorrhoea. Chronic course is accompanied by uterine compaction, menstrual cycle disorder, miscarriage.
Treatment:
In an acute stage of rest, cold on the lower abdomen, antibiotics, sulfonamides, painkillers, autohemotherapy. In a chronic stage, physiotherapeutic - thermal resorption procedures. Prevention: hygiene compliance during menstruation (rejection of sexual activity, from vaginal douches); Measures to prevent the occurrence of post-abortion or postpartum infection.
