Bleeding after childbirth

May be due to hypo- or atony of the uterus (a decrease or complete relaxation of its contractility), delayed parts of the placenta in the cavity (see Bleeding in childbirth), rupture of the uterus, hypofibrinogenemia (bleeding disorders).
Symptoms and course:
When hypotension the uterus is flabby, poorly contracted, located relatively high (the bottom is above the navel), blood from the genital tract is emitted in separate portions or follows by a stream. With the increase in the amount of lost blood, the condition of the parturient woman progressively worsens, the phenomena of collapse and acute anemia increase, without the timely measures the woman can perish.
