Miliary tuberculosis

It develops when a large number of Kokh sticks get into the blood and seeds not only of the lungs but also of other organs - the pleura, the peritoneum, the intestine, the kidneys, the meninges, etc., where numerous small foci arise. Usually this form of tuberculosis is generalized, i.e. Spread throughout the body, but sometimes the process is concentrated in one organ, mainly in the lungs and even in separate parts of them, for example, in the apexes.
Symptoms and course:
It usually starts with a general malaise, a slight increase in temperature, a headache. Soon the patient's condition deteriorates sharply, fever occurs, the temperature reaches 39-40 ± C, dyspnea, palpitations occur. In the lungs, small rales are heard. Tuberculin samples are weakly expressed. In the blood, ESR is accelerated, the number of leukocytes is moderately increased, mycobacteria in sputum are usually absent. Radiographically in the lungs, multiple foci are determined by the size of millet (hence the name of tuberculosis is miliary). They are not clearly outlined and are located symmetrically in both lungs.
Despite the significant severity and severity of the course of miliary tuberculosis, patients with this form of the process can be fully cured if it is recognized in a timely manner.
