Tumors of the orbit (orbit)

In the orbit, all types of tumors developing in humans can occur. The tissues of the orbit itself degenerate, tumors spread from neighboring structures (from the skull, upper jaw, etc.), as well as metastases from other organs.
The most characteristic is progressive exophthalmos: the eye is usually shifted not only forward, but also in any direction. Education, as a rule, limits mobility in this direction. The process develops gradually. This may be preceded by a moderate swelling of the eyelids, a violation of the sensitivity of surrounding tissues. Pain relate to one degree or another. When the process is located near the optic nerve, visual acuity, constriction or sectoral loss in the visual field is impaired.
Symptoms can be combined in different combinations, but none of them gives grounds for diagnosing in the initial stage. The most reliable information is given by X-ray, tomography, computed tomography, two-dimensional ultrasound scanning, thermography, nuclear magnetic resonance, puncture. At this stage, it is not always possible to differentiate the character of education (benign, malignant).
Most often surgical. In addition, chemotherapy and radiotherapy are used. The organ of vision is not always successful.
