An infected wound formed in the area of tears and cracks in the perineum, vaginal wall, cervix. Usually opens 3-4 days after birth. The wound surface is covered with purulent plaque, the surrounding tissue is hyperemic and edematous. The general condition of the patient is disturbed a little.
Treatment:Locally - the use of napkins impregnated with a hypertonic solution of sodium chloride with antibiotics, and then emulsions with antibiotics. The prognosis is favorable, wound epithelialization usually ends by 10-12 days. Prevention consists in the rational management of childbirth and compliance with the rules of asepsis and antiseptics.
