Postpartum (postabortion) Infectious Diseases
A group of diseases resulting from the penetration of microbes through wound surfaces formed during childbirth (abortion), or activation of conditionally pathogenic microflora due to weakening of the body. They are divided into those limited by the area of the birth wound (postpartum ulcer on the wall of the vagina, perineum or cervix, lochiometer, endometritis) and spreading beyond it (parametritis, adnexitis, thrombophlebitis of the lower extremities, pelvioperitonitis, mastitis).
