SODIUM ARSENAT (Natrii arsenas).

Disodium salt of arsenic acid.

Synonyms: Sodium arsenate, Sodium crystallized arsenate, Natrium arsenicicum.

Colorless, airless crystals without odor. Soluble in water (1: 1, 7), very slightly soluble in alcohol. Aqueous solutions (pH 6, O-7, 0) are sterilized at a temperature of + 100 ° C for 30 minutes.

Apply in the form of an aqueous solution for subcutaneous injection (in combination with a solution of strychnine - see Duplex). (The previously used 1% arsenate solution for injections is excluded from the nomenclature of drugs).

Duplex solution for injection (Solutio "Duplex" by injectionibus). An aqueous solution of strychnine nitrate (0.1%) and sodium arsenate (1%) in ampoules of 1 ml.

They are used very rarely as a restorative and tonic.

Higher doses for adults under the skin: single 0.01 g (1 ml of 1% solution), daily 0.02 g (2 ml of 1% solution).

The drug is contraindicated in cases of kidney damage, neuritis, severe anemia, dyspeptic disorders.
