Description of the medicine: Ftorazicin (Phthoracizinum)

FLUORACISINE (Phthoracizinum). 2-Trifluoromethyl-10- (3-diethylaminopropionyl) phenothiazine hydrochloride.

Synonym: Fluacizine.

White or white with a weak creamy hue, crystalline powder odorless. Difficultly soluble in water, easily - in alcohol. It gets dark in the light; PH 1, 25% solution 3, 8 - 4, 8.

The chemical structure is close to the neuroleptic substances of the phenothiazine series.

Fluoracycin has an antidepressant effect, combined with a sedative effect. Has a strong central and peripheral cholinolytic activity.

Applied as an antidepressant in anxiety-depressive states in the manic-depressive psychosis, in schizophrenia, if the clinical picture is characterized by severe affective disorders (fear, anxiety, emotional stress), with reactive and neurotic states accompanied by depression, and with depression due to Use of neuroleptic drugs. With depressive states with inhibition, with atypical depression in patients with diencephalic disorders and in involuntary melancholy, the drug is not effective enough.

Fluocarcinase can be combined with other (tricyclic) antidepressants, neuroleptics, stimulants.

Assign inside (after eating) and intramuscularly. When ingestion begin with 0,05 - 0,07 g (50 - 70 mg) per day (in 2 - 3 doses), then the dose is gradually increased. The average therapeutic dose of 0.1-0.2 g (up to 0.3 g) per day. Intramuscularly injected into 0.025 grams (2 ml of a 1, 25% solution) 1 to 2 times a day, then the dose is gradually increased, and when the therapeutic effect is gradually replaced by injecting the drug inside. In connection with the central cholinolytic effect, fluocarcin can be used as a corrector for extrapyramidal disorders (parkinsonism, hyperkinesis, etc.) arising during the treatment with neuroleptics.

Assign 0.01 to 0.06 g (10 to 60 mg) 1 to 2 times a day inwards or 0.01 to 0.04 g (10 to 40 mg) per day intramuscularly.

When treating with fluoracycin, lowering blood pressure, weakness, nausea, pain in the extremities are possible. Relatively often there is dry mouth, discomfort, accommodation, difficulty urinating.

The drug is contraindicated in cases of violations of the liver and kidneys, peptic ulcer, glaucoma, prostatic hypertrophy, atony of the bladder. It is not possible to prescribe fluocyclin at the same time as MAO inhibitors.

Forms of release: tablets of 0.01 and 0.025 g, coated with a coat (respectively yellow or green), in a package of 50 pieces; 1, 25% solution in ampoules of 1 ml in a package of 10 ampoules.
