Description of the medicine: Auronofin

AURANOFIN. 1-Thio-b-D-glucopyranosato (triethyl-phosphine) -halo 2, 3, 4, 6-tetraacetate.

Synonyms: Aktil, Auropan, Riadura, Aktil, Auropan, Riadura.

Gold preparation for oral administration.

By action it is similar to preparations of gold, used intramuscularly (krizanol).

Assign auranofin to adults at 6 mg per day in 1 or 2 admission, while eating. If after 4 - 6 months from the beginning of treatment the effect is not enough expressed, increase the daily dose to 9 mg (3 mg 3 times a day).

You can appoint auranofin in combination with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.

The drug is usually well tolerated, but nausea, diarrhea, itchy skin, stomatitis, conjunctivitis, leukopenia, anemia are possible. These phenomena are usually less pronounced than when using parenteral preparations of gold.

Contraindications are the same as for crisanol. It is not recommended to prescribe the drug to children (because of the lack of sufficient number of observations).

Product: tablets of 0.003 g (3 mg = 0.87 mg of gold) in packages of 30; 60 and 100 pieces.

Storage: in a place protected from light.
