Description of the medicine: Carbogen (Carbogenum)

CARBOGEN (Carbogenum) (see Carboxylic acid).

A mixture of oxygen (95-93%) with carbon dioxide (5-7%).

Previously used in anesthesia for inhalation. The addition of carbon dioxide to oxygen leads to the excitation of breathing and the better use of oxygen. Currently not applicable. Oxygen increases the excitability of cells in the cerebral cortex and has a favorable effect on their activity.

There are data on the effectiveness of carbogen inhalation in the complex treatment of glaucoma. Elimination of respiratory hypoxia improves the hydrodynamics of the eye and visual function.

Product: in metal cylinders.
