FOGEM (Fogemum).

The drug complex composition contains hemin (chelate iron hematoporphyrin and tribasic).

It has a photoprotective activity, blocks the inflammatory reaction of the skin associated with the photodynamic effect.

Available in a 0.1% liniment.

Applied as a therapeutic and prophylactic agent for photodermatosis (discoid lupus, eczema, sun, solar pruritus) associated with impaired porphyrin metabolism.

The drug is applied to the pre-washed skin rubbing evenly and quickly. With the defeat of the face is applied to the entire surface, in other locales - only on the affected skin.

During the first week rubbed into the skin from 0.1 to 0.2 grams 3 times per day during the second week - in the same doses of 1 - 2 times a day, followed by a maintenance dose (0.1 g) 1 time 2 - 3 days. The effectiveness of treatment is determined by the degree of pigmentation of the skin. If necessary, can be applied in the above doses of 2 - 3 times per day for 3 - 4 weeks; for the prevention of exacerbations - 2 - 3 times per week during the spring-summer period.

When applying fogema, I sometimes feel a burning sensation of the skin, slight metallic taste in the mouth, disappearing after a few minutes after application. In case of overdose liniment intensity and duration of burning increases. In such cases, it is advisable to lubricate the skin neutral water-based cosmetic cream. If not carefully rubbing fogema, after the suction on the skin surface may appear whitish spots, which are easily removed with a cotton swab.
