Description of the medicine: Bicillin-1 (Bicillinum-1)

BICILLIN-1 (Bicillinum-1).

N, N-Dibenzylethylenediamine salt of benzylpenicillin.

Synonyms: Benzacillin, Benzatini, Benzethacil, Benzylpenicillin-Benzatine, Benzylpenicillinum, Diaminpenicillin, Dibencil, Duapen, Duropenin, Extencillin, Moldamin, Penadur, Tardocillin and others.

A white powder that forms a stable suspension when water is added. Almost nerastvorim in water, very little - in alcohol.

Bicillin-1 is a prolonged-release preparation. When administered intramuscularly in the form of a suspension, it is slowly absorbed and enters the blood for a long time.

Applied with infectious diseases caused by pathogens that are sensitive to penicillin (streptococci, pneumococci, staphylococcus, etc.).

Especially shown the use of bicillin-1, if necessary, to create a long-term therapeutic concentration of penicillin in the blood. It is also indicated for the prevention and treatment of rheumatism and the treatment of syphilis (see also Bicillin-5).

The drug is administered only intramuscularly. Intravenous and endolumbic administration is not allowed.

Suspension of bicillin-1 is prepared aseptically just before use: 2 - 3 ml of sterile water for injection or isotonic sodium chloride solution is injected into the bottle with bicillin, the mixture is stirred until a uniform suspension is obtained, which is injected deep into the upper outer quadrant of the buttock.

Introduce adults for 300 000 or 600 000 units once a week or 1 200 000 units once every 2 weeks.

Children are administered at a rate of 5000 - 10 000 units per 1 kg of body weight once a week or at the rate of 20 000 units per 1 kg of weight once in 2 weeks. More frequent injections are not allowed.

In the treatment of rheumatism, the dose of bicillin-1 for adults can be increased to 2 400 000 units 2 times a month. To prevent the recurrence of rheumatism, bicillin-1 (or bicillin-5) is administered intramuscularly for 600,000 units once a week for 6 weeks in combination with taking acetylsalicylic acid or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.

For the treatment of syphilis, bicillin-1 is used according to special instructions.

After the injection of the drug (as well as other prolonged penicillin preparations), pain in the injection site is possible.

Contraindications and precautions are the same as for benzylpenicillin sodium salt.

Product: in bottles of 300 000; 600,000; 1 200 000 and 2 400 000 units, based on benzylpenicillin.
