Description of the medicine: Ampicillin sodium salt (Ampicillinum-natrium)

AMPICILLINA SODIUM SALT (Ampicillinum-natrium).

The sodium salt of 6- [D - (-) - a-aminophenylacetamido] -phenicyllanoic acid.

Powder or porous mass of white (or with a creamy hue) color, bitter taste. It is hygroscopic. Easily soluble in water, soluble in alcohol.

Chemotherapeutic activity and indications for use are the same as for ampicillin. It is used for intramuscular and intravenous (jet or drip) administration.

In both ways of administration, a single dose of the drug for adults 0.25 0.5 g; Daily 1 - 3 g. In severe infections, the daily dose can be increased to 10 g or more. Newborn drug is prescribed in a daily dose of 100 mg / kg, children of other age groups - 50 mg / kg. In severe infectious disease, these doses can be doubled.

The daily dose is administered in 4 to 6 doses at intervals of 4-6 h.

Solution for intramuscular injection is prepared ex tempore, adding to the contents of the vial (0.25 or 0.5 g) 2 ml of sterile water for injection. The duration of treatment is 7 - 14 days or more.

For intravenous jet administration, a single dose of the drug (no more than 2 g) is dissolved in 5 to 10 ml of sterile water for injection or isotonic sodium chloride solution and injected slowly for 3 to 5 minutes (1-2 g for 106 to 15 min). With a single dose exceeding 2 g, the drug is administered intravenously drip. For intravenous drip injection, a single dose of the drug (2 - 4 g) is dissolved in a small volume of sterile water for injection (7, 5 - 15, 0 ml, respectively), then the resulting antibiotic solution is added to 125 - 250 ml of isotonic sodium chloride solution or 5 - 10% glucose solution and injected at a rate of 60 - 80 drops per minute. When drip introduction to children, 5-10% glucose solution (30-50 ml depending on the age) is used as the solvent. The solutions are used immediately after preparation; It is inadmissible to add other drugs to them. The daily dose is divided into 3 to 4 injections. Duration of treatment is 7 days with the subsequent transition (if necessary) to intramuscular injection.

Possible complications and contraindications are the same as for ampicillin.

Product: in hermetically ukuporennyh bottles of 0.25 and 0.5 g (complete with sterile water for injections in ampoules of 2 ml).
