Description of the medicine: Carfecillin (Carfecillin)

CARFECILLINE (Carfecillin).

Carbenicillin phenyl ester (semisynthetic penicillin).

Available in the form of sodium salt (Carfecillini natrium).

Synonyms: Carfecillin sodium, Carfexil, Pionin, Purapen, Safepen, Urocarf, Uticillin, Vexyl.

White crystalline powder, easily soluble in water. Acid-resistant.

According to the spectrum of action corresponds to carbenicillin. It is active against the majority of gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms that do not form staphylococcus penicillinase, streptococci, pneumococci, intestinal and pseudomonas aeruginosa, etc.

Well absorbed when taken orally.

Applied mainly for the treatment of acute and chronic infections of the urinary tract in adults: pyelonephritis, cystitis, urethritis, as well as prostatitis, etc.
