OLEETHERRIN (Oletetrinum).

Oletetrin is a combined preparation consisting of a mixture of one part of oleandomycin phosphate and two parts of tetracycline.

One tablet (0.125 or 0.25 g) of oletetrin contains respectively 41, 5 or 83 mg of oleandomycin and 83, 5 or 167 mg of tetracycline, respectively.

One capsule (0.25 g) contains 83 mg of oleandomycin and 167 mg of tetracycline.

Antibacterial properties of oleandomycin and a broad-spectrum antibiotic of tetracycline are combined in oletatrine. When ingesting oletetrin is absorbed and penetrates into many organs and biological fluids. Effective against gram-positive (staphylococcus, streptococcus, pneumococcus, diphtheria rods, etc.) and Gram-negative (gonococcus, meningococcus, dysentery rods, E. coli, etc.) microorganisms, rickettsia, spirochetes, large viruses; Does not affect fungi and small viruses, mycobacterium tuberculosis. The resistance to the drug develops more slowly than to its individual components.

Assign oletetrin with pneumonia of different etiology, severe bronchitis, angina, sinusitis, middle ear inflammation, brucellosis, tularemia, some rickettsiosis, cholecystitis, pancreatitis, peritonitis, furunculosis, carbuncles, osteomyelitis, inflammatory gynecological and urological diseases, gonorrhea and other infectious diseases.

The drug can be used to prevent infectious postoperative complications.

Produced in the form of capsules of 0.25 g (83 mg of oleandomycin phosphate or triacetyloleandomycin and 167 mg of tetracycline hydrochloride) and in vials for intramuscular injection of 0.1 g of the drug (33, 3 mg of oleandomycin phosphate and 66.7 mg of tetracycline hydrochloride), For intravenous administration, 0.25 and 0.5 g of the preparation (respectively 83 or 167 mg of oleandomycin phosphate and 167 or 333 mg of tetracycline hydrochloride).

Indications for use and contraindications are the same as for oletetrin.
