UROSULFAN (Urosulfanum). Para-Aminobenzenesulfonylurea.

Synonyms: Euvernil, Sulfacarbamidum, Sulfonilcarbamid, Uramid and others.

White crystalline powder odorless. It is slightly soluble in water, it is difficult - in alcohol, easily - in diluted acids and solutions of caustic alkalis.

The chemotherapeutic effect of urosulfan is most pronounced in relation to staphylococci and Escherichia coli. Good and quickly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. A high concentration of the drug is created in the blood. It is excreted mainly by the kidneys. High concentration in the urine contributes to antibacterial action on pathogens of urinary tract infections. Malotoxic. The deposition of the drug in the urinary tract is not observed.

Applied with cystitis, pyelitis, cystopyelitis, pyelonephritis, infected hydronephrosis and other infections of the urinary tract. The most effective for pyelitis and cystitis without urinary disorders.
