Description of the medicine: Sulfalen-meglumin (Sulfalenum-megluminum)
N-methylglucamine salt of sulfalene. It is a soluble form of sulfalene, used in the form of a solution for parenteral administration.
According to chemotherapeutic activity, it corresponds to sulfalene. It is prescribed for various forms of purulent infections in surgical, neurosurgical, urological practice, for severe septic conditions, pneumonia, purulent meningitis, and in other cases when it is necessary to quickly create the necessary concentration of sulfalene in the blood and tissues.
The drug is administered intravenously (in a jet or drip) or intramuscularly. Due to the fact that sulfalen has a prolonged effect, it is enough to administer the drug 1 time per day.
Single doses (they are also daily allowance for adults) 5 - 10 ml (0.5 - 1.0 g of sulfalene) on the 1st day; in the future - 2 ml. The course of treatment is 7 to 10 days. If necessary, continue treatment is subsequently taken orally in the form of tablets.

Release form: 18, 5% solution of sulfalene-meglumine, which corresponds to a 10% solution of sulfalene, in ampoules of 2 and 5 ml (0.2 or 0.5 g of sulfalene in an ampoule). The liquid is colorless or slightly yellowish in color; pH 8, 6 - 9, 5.
