Description of the medicine: Dioxydinum (Dioxydinum)

DIOXIDINE (Dioxydinum). 1, 4-Di-N-oxide 2, 3-bis (hydroxymethyl) quinoxaline. 3-yellow crystalline powder odorless. Slightly soluble in water and alcohol; PH of 1% solution of 5, 2 - 7, 2.

Dioxydin, like quinoxidine, is an antibacterial broad-spectrum drug. Effective in infections caused by vulgar proteome, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, dysentery rod and Klebsiella rod (Friedlander), Salmonella, Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, pathogenic anaerobes (including gas gangrene pathogens). It acts on strains of bacteria resistant to other chemotherapeutic drugs, including antibiotics.

They are used to treat severe purulent-inflammatory processes of various locations: purulent pleurisy, pleural empyema, lung abscess, peritonitis, cystitis, wounds with the presence of deep cavities: soft tissue abscesses, phlegmon, postoperative wounds of the urine and biliary tract, etc., and also for prophylaxis Infectious complications after catheterization of the bladder.

It is applied as a 1% aqueous solution (Solutio Dioxydini 1% pro injectionibus) -green-yellow transparent liquid.

Assign only to adults. Before the beginning of the course of treatment, a drug tolerance test is carried out, for which 10 ml of a 1% solution is injected into the cavity. If there are no side effects during 3-6 hours (dizziness, chills, fever), they begin course treatment. Otherwise, the drug is not prescribed.

Enter the solution into the cavity through the drainage tube, a catheter or syringe-usually 10 to 50 ml of a 1% solution (0.1 to 0.5 g).

The maximum daily dose of 70 ml of a 1% solution (0.7 g). Apply usually 1 or 2 times a day (not exceeding the daily dose of 70 ml of 1% solution).

The duration of treatment depends on the severity of the disease, the effectiveness of therapy and tolerability. With good tolerance, injected for 3 weeks or more. If necessary, the course of treatment is repeated after 1 - 1, 5 months.

In severe septic conditions, a 0.5% solution of the drug is injected intravenously intravenously, which is diluted in a 5% solution of glucose or isotonic sodium chloride solution to a concentration of 0.1-0.2%. The daily dose of 600 - 900 mg (in 2 - 3 doses).

When treating purulent wounds, burns, trophic wounds, pustular skin diseases, 5% ointment, 1% and 0.5% solution of dioxidine are prescribed.

Dioxydin should be used under close medical supervision.

Contraindications: individual intolerance and the presence in the history of insufficiency of adrenal function.

Under the experimental conditions, the teratogenic and embryotoxic effects of dioxidine have been identified, and therefore it is contraindicated in pregnancy.

The drug also has a mutagenic effect.

In connection with these phenomena, dioxin is prescribed only in severe forms of infectious diseases or in the ineffectiveness of other antibacterial drugs. Do not uncontrolled use of dioxygen and its containing dosage forms.
