Description of the drug: soluble furagin (Furaginum solubile)
FURAGINE SOLUBLE (Furaginum solubile).
N- (5-Nitrofuryl-2) -allylidene-amino-hydantoine potassium salt.
Synonyms: Solafur, Furagin potassium salt, Furamag, Furaginum-Kalium, Furamag, Solafur.
Available in the form of a mixture containing 10% soluble furagin and 90% sodium chloride (Furaginum solubile 10% cum Natrio chlorido 90%).
By antibacterial activity similar to furagin. The best solubility in comparison with furagin, allows soluble furagin to be administered intravenously and quickly create a high concentration of the drug in the blood.
Assign adults with severe infectious and inflammatory diseases caused by staphylococcus, streptococcus and other pathogens that are sensitive to the drug (sepsis, wound and purulent infection, severe burns, acute and chronic cystitis, urethritis, pyelonephritis, prostatitis, cholecystitis, bronchitis, pneumonia, pneumonia, pneumonia, pneumonia, pneumonia, pneumonia, pneumonia, pneumonia, pneumonia, pneumonia, pneumonia, pneumonia, pyelonephritis, prostatitis, cholecystitis, bronchitis, pneumonia; including those complicated by infectious-allergic bronchial asthma, inflammatory diseases of the female genital organs, anaerobic infection).
Furagin soluble in capsules is also used to prevent infections during urological operations, cystoscopy, catheterization, etc.
Furagin soluble inside is used intravenously, intratracheally, intrabronchially, also injected into the cavities and applied topically.
Intravenously administered 1% solution by drop method slowly over 3 to 4 hours. Daily dose for an adult from 300 to 500 ml of solution, depending on the severity of the disease. The course of treatment consists of 3 - 7 infusions.
When conducting a medical or therapeutic diagnostic debridement of the bronchi, from 100 to 300 ml of a 1% solution of the drug is administered intratracheally. The course of treatment 3 - 14 infusions. Intra bronchial in bronchofibroscopy injected with 0.5 - 1% solution of furagin soluble, heated to 36 - 39 C, fractionally in 20 - 60 ml, and when washing the bronchus - solution heated to 36 - 39 C in 0.5 - 100 ml in a total dose of 500 - 800 ml with simultaneous suction of injected fluid. If necessary, washed again.
In the treatment of purulent-inflammatory processes (peritonitis, pleural empyema, articular cavity suppuration), the cavities are washed with a 1% solution.
Locally, the drug is used in the form of a 1% solution in the treatment of burn wounds.
To prepare 0.5% and 1% solutions, 0.5 g or 1 g of the drug, respectively, is dissolved in 100 ml of hot water for injection and filtered through a millipore filter no larger than 0.45 µm (or through antibacterial ceramic candles or antibacterial glass filters ) followed by sterilization at 100 ° C for 30 minutes.
Inside take furagin soluble in the form of capsules (after eating) at 0.05 - 0.1 g 3 times a day. The course of treatment is 7 to 10 days. If necessary, after a 10 - 15-day break, the course is repeated.
Possible side effects are the same as when using other nitrofurans.
With rapid intravenous administration of the drug in some cases, possible headache, nausea, tinnitus. To prevent these phenomena, the simultaneous use of antihistamines is recommended.
