Description of the medicine: Streptosaluzidum (Streptosaluzidum)
Streptomycin salt of 2-carboxy-3, 4-dimethoxybenzal-isonicotinoylhydrazone (see Salusid).
Available as monosulfate.
Porous hygroscopic mass of yellow color, bitter taste, odorless.
Easily soluble in water, practically insoluble in alcohol; The pH of the aqueous solution is 5, 6 - 7, 0.
The drug has antibacterial activity against tuberculosis mycobacteria sensitive to streptomycin and isoniazid group drugs.
Apply intramuscularly, intratracheally and inhalation.
Intramuscular injection solutions are prepared under aseptic conditions immediately before use. A 2% solution of novocaine is introduced into the vial with the drug - 1 ml per 0.5 g of streptosaluzide. The average daily dose for adults is 1 g. On the first day, give 0.5 g; with good tolerance, the dose is increased to 1 g (once or 0.5 g 2 times a day).
Children are given lower doses in accordance with age and body weight.
A streptosaluzide solution should be used in the first hour after preparation.
For intratracheal administration for tuberculous lesions of the bronchi and larynx, 0.5 g of the drug is dissolved in 2 ml, and for inhalation - in 3-5 ml of an isotonic sodium chloride solution.
When using the drug, the same side effects can be observed as with the appointment of streptomycin and drugs of the isoniazid group.
Release form: in hermetically sealed bottles on 0,5 and 1 g.
