SOLUTIONS (Solusulfonum).

The tetrasodium salt of 4, 4'-di- (3-phenyl-1,3-disulfopropylamino) -diphenylsulfone.

Synonyms: Cimedone, Novotrone, Solapsone, Solasulfone, Sulfetron, Sulphedrone, Sulfonazine and others.

White or yellowish amorphous powder. Very easily soluble in water, almost insoluble in alcohol.

Applied for the treatment of leprosy. It is believed that the active substance is diaminodiphenylsulfone, formed during hydrolysis of the solesulfone in the body.

Enter as a 50% aqueous solution intramuscularly. Injections are done 2 times a week. The initial dose is 0.5 ml once. In the future, it is gradually increased by 0.5 ml, bringing to the end of the 6th week to 3 ml. From the 7th week, 3, 5 ml is injected for 6 months (50 injections), then take a break for 1 - 1, 5 months. Treatment is long.

The dose for children is reduced according to age. Enter in the form of 25% solution.

To accelerate the healing of ulcers, saltulosulfone is also used topically in the form of a 10% solution or ointment.

Possible side effects and contraindications are the same as for diaphenylsulfone.
