Description of the medicine: Bemithylum

BEMITHYLUM. 2-Ethylthiobenzimidazole hydrobromide.

White or white with a creamy hue of crystalline powder. Soluble in water with the formation of turbid solutions; Soluble in alcohol.

Has a psychostimulating effect, has antihypoxic activity, increases the body's resistance to hypoxia and increases efficiency at physical exertion. It is considered as a representative of a new group - actoprotective drugs. Slowly absorbed when taken orally.

Assign adults with asthenic conditions, neuroses, after the traumas and other conditions in which the stimulation of mental and physical functions is shown.

There are data on the immunostimulating effect of bemithyl and its effectiveness in this regard in the integrated treatment of certain infectious diseases.

Take bamitil after meals to 0.25 - 0.5 g 2 - 3 times a day. The daily dose of 0.5 - 1 g. The course of treatment 10 - 20 days in a row or 2 - 3 courses for 3 - 5 days at intervals of 2 to 5 days. It is recommended to eat foods rich in carbohydrates during the treatment.

When using bemitil, nausea, rarely vomiting, unpleasant sensations in the stomach, headache, hyperemia of the face are possible.

The drug is contraindicated in hypoglycemia.
