Description of the medicine: Helepinum

HELEPIN (Helepinum).

Purified extract from the aerial part of the plant Lespedeza hedysazoides (Pall.) Kitag], family. Legumes Fabaceae).

Amorphous powder of a greenish-yellow color with a grayish or greenish tinge. Hygroscopic.

Has antiviral activity against DNA-containing viruses of the herpes group.

Applied in adults inside and outside with herpes zoster, recurrent forms of herpes simplex, with diseases of the mucous membranes of the oral cavity of viral origin.

Inside take 0.1-0.2 g (1 - 2 tablets) 3 times a day. Locally used as a 5% ointment on the skin and 1% ointment on the mucous membranes. Apply to affected areas 2 - 6 times a day (without bandage).

The course of treatment - from 5 days to 4 weeks.

In herpes zoster combined oral intake of 0.1 g 3 times a day with topical application of 5% or 1% ointment for 5 to 10 days.

The drug is more effective in the initial forms of the disease, so treatment is recommended to begin with early signs of the disease or relapse.

Contraindications: increased coagulability of blood.

Form release: tablets, coated with a yellow coating, 0.1 g in a package of 10 and 20 pieces; 1% or 5% ointment from greyish to brown (with a greenish tinge) in a package of 20 g.

Storage: in a place protected from light.
