Description medications: Naftamon (Naphthammonum)

NAFTAMON (Naphthammonum). 2 Fenoksietildimetilbenzilammoniya-2-hydroxynaphthoate.

Synonyms: Alcopar, Bephenii hydroxynaphthoas, Debefenium.

Light greenish-yellow crystalline powder, odorless, bitter taste. Very slightly soluble in water (0.25%), soluble in alcohol under heating.

On chemical structure is a quaternary ammonium compound.

Applied in the treatment of ascariasis, hookworm, Enterobiasis, trihostrongiloidoza, trihotsefaleze.

The drug causes muscle contraction parasites that contribute to their removal from the intestines.

Producing naftamon in two dosage forms: tablets naftamona <K> coated (Tabulettae Naphthammoni By obductae) greenish-yellow color and odor, soluble in the gut, and naftamona tablets soluble in the intestine (Tabulettae Narhthammoni enterosolubiles), greenish-yellow odorless or with a faint odor.

Sheath acetylphthalyl covering tablets naftamona <K>, ensures their disintegration in the duodenum or in the upper small intestine, and the drug has an anthelmintic action throughout the intestine, and tablets naftamona soluble in the intestine, unlike pills naftamona <K> fall in the lower small intestine or the upper part of the colon, i.e. in place of the primary localization whipworm.

Due to these features, the tablet naftamona <K> is used in ascariasis, hookworm and trihostrongiloidozah, as well as in combination with these invasions trihotsefaleze and tablets naftamona soluble in the intestines - only when trihotsefaleze.

Both types of tablets taken by mouth without chewing on an empty stomach, 2 hours before breakfast and washed down with water.

Adults and children over 10 years give 5 g of the drug (10 tablets) for children from 3 to 6 years - 2 0 - 2, 5 g (4 - 5 tablets), from 6 to 7 years - 3 g (6 tablets) from 8 to 9 years - 4 g (8 tablets).

The highest single and daily dose for adults inside 5 g; for children 3 - 5 years - 2, 5 g, 6 - 7 years - 3 g, 8 - 9 years - 4 g, 10 - 14 years - 5 g

Preliminary training and dieting is not required, but it is desirable to limit the use of sharp, salty and fatty foods and milk. Due to the fact that the drug has a laxative effect, a laxative after its reception is not usually prescribed.

Taking the drug for 3 - 5 days. If necessary, repeat the treatment after 2 - 3 weeks.
