Description of the medicine: Iodonatum

Iodonatum.

An aqueous solution of the surfactant complex with iodine.

The liquid is dark brown with a faint odor of iodine. Miscible with water in any proportions. Contains about 4, 5% iodine.

The drug has bactericidal activity, which is ensured by the maintenance of not only iodine, but also a surface active carrier. It is active against E. coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Proteus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa; Has also fungicidal properties.

Applied as an antiseptic only for disinfection of the skin of the operating field, as a substitute for a solution of iodine alcohol (see).

Use a solution containing 1% free iodine. To do this, dilute the original solution of iodonate 4, 5 times with sterile or boiled distilled water before use. The resulting 1% solution is smeared twice the operating field before the operation. Additional treatment of the skin with alcohol is not required. Before applying seams to the skin, re-treat the edges of the wound with a 1% solution.

Form release: 1 and 2 liters in bottles of orange glass with ground glass stoppers containing the original preparation (with 4 - 5% free iodine).

Storage: in a dark place at room temperature.
