Description of the drug: Etacridine lactate (Aethacridini lactas)

ETACRIDINE LACTAT (Aethacridini lactas). 2-Ethoxy-6, 9-diaminoacridine lactate.

Synonyms: Rivanol, Acricidum, Acrinol, Acrinolin, Ethodin, Rivanolum.

Yellow crystalline powder, bitter to the taste, odorless. Slightly soluble in cold water (1:50), lighter in hot water, slightly soluble in alcohol (1: 100). Water solutions are unstable, especially in the light (become brown).

Use freshly prepared solutions.

Has an antimicrobial effect, mainly in infections caused by cocci, especially streptococci. Etacridine lactate is low toxic, does not cause tissue irritation.

Applied as an external preventive and therapeutic antiseptic in surgical, gynecological, urological, ophthalmic, dermatological, otolaryngological practice. For the treatment and treatment of fresh and infected wounds, 0.05% (1: 2000) aqueous solutions are used; 0.1% (1: 1000), 0.2% (1: 500) To wash the pleural and abdominal cavities, with purulent pleurisy and peritonitis, as well as with purulent arthritis and cystitis apply 0.05 - 0.1% solutions. For boils, carbuncles, abscesses, 0.1 - 0.2% solution in the form of lotions, tampons. Rinsing of the cavities is contraindicated in kidney diseases, accompanied by albuminuria.

Form release: powder; Tablets containing ethacridine lactate 0.01 g and boric acid 0.09 g; 0.1% alcohol solution; 3% ointment (25 g each).
