DEGMICIDE (Degmicidum).

Transparent liquid of yellow or yellow-brown color with a specific smell of higher alcohols. It is mixed with water in the ratio 1: 1 and with alcohol in all proportions with the formation of transparent solutions. The diluted aqueous solution (1:30) is cloudy.

Antiseptic surface preparation. Contains 30% of the drug degmine, which is a quaternary ammonium compound. It has a pronounced antibacterial (disinfectant) activity and is a good detergent.

Applied to handle the hands of the surgeon and the operating field.

The drug is used in 1:30 dilution, i.e. In the form of 1% solution, for which one part of the degummicide is taken with 29 parts of ordinary drinking water (you can take raw drinking water, but with increased water hardness, you should use distilled water). For faster dissolution, hot water can be used.

For the treatment of hands and the operating field, cotton swabs (1, 5, 2, 0 g) or foam sponges (6 x 4 x 2 cm) are used, which are placed in a glass, porcelain or enameled vessel with 1% solution of the degymicide (at a rate of 25 ml per Each tampon or sponge).

Before treatment with a degummicide, wash your hands with warm water and soap for 2 to 3 minutes, carefully rinse them (anionic detergents, such as normal soaps, inactivate quaternary surfactants), wipe with two tampons moistened with 1% solution of degymicide (3 min Everyone), wipe their hands dry and put on sterile gloves.
