Description of the medicine: Decamethoxinum (Decamethoxinum)

DECAMETHOXINE (Decamethoxinum). 1, 10-Decamethylene bis (N, N-dimethyl-menthoxycarbonylmethyl) ammonium dichloride.

White fine crystalline powder with a weak odor. Easily soluble in water.

It is a bis-quaternary ammonium compound. By chemical structure and antimicrobial action is close to etony.

Decamethoxin is used in purulent and fungal skin lesions (abscesses, purulent wounds, candidiasis, etc.), with proctitis, purulent conjunctivitis, gingivitis, periodontitis, tonsillitis, otitis and other purulent processes. Endobronchially used for lung diseases.

They are also used as an antiseptic for treating the hands of medical personnel and the operating field; In addition, for the disinfection of suture and surgical materials, rubber gloves, medical instruments, instruments and equipment from metal, glass, plastic, rubber, as well as for chemical sterilization and conservation of bone-tendon transplants.

Decamethoxin is applied as a solution locally and endobronchially.

The solutions are prepared from tablets that are mechanically grinded and dissolved in distilled water, isotonic sodium chloride solution or in alcohol. For the treatment of ear diseases produced ready ear drops (0.05% alcohol solution).

With purulent and fungal skin diseases apply 0.5% aqueous solution for washing, lotions. With candidiasis skin lesions, erythrasm, pityriasis make applications - 0.1% aqueous solution.

To wash the bladder, decamethoxin is used in the form of 0.003% aqueous solution at a dose of 500-600 ml (for a course of treatment 7-20 washings).

With proctitis and ulcerative colitis, a 0.01-0.03% aqueous solution is given in the form of enemas 50-100 ml 2 times a day until the symptoms of acute inflammation completely subside.

For lesions of the oral mucosa, use 0.025% aqueous solution for 10 - 15 minutes (25-50 ml), rinse (100-150 ml). Dystrophic-inflammatory form of periodontal disease of I-II degree in the acute stage is treated with 0.025% aqueous solution (50-70 ml) by irrigation of pathological gingival pockets, applications to the gum until inflammation subsides.

With candidal infection of the oral mucosa, ulcerative necrotic gingivitis, decamethoxin is used in the form of rinses of the oral cavity 0.01-0.02% aqueous solution (100-150 ml) 4 times a day for 5-10 days.

In acute purulent conjunctivitis after ophthalmic operations, the drug is instilled in the form of 0.02% aqueous solution of 4 to 5 drops in the conjunctival sac 4 to 6 times a day.

Patients with acute otitis are instilled in the ear with 0.05% alcohol (70%) solution 3 to 4 drops 3 times a day.

Endobronchially decamethoxin is administered in the form of 0,02 - 0,025% solution prepared on an isotonic solution of sodium chloride.

For the treatment of the operating field and hands, 0.025% aqueous solution is used.

0.1% aqueous and alcoholic (70% and 96%) solutions are used to sterilize the suture material, tools, equipment.
