Description of the medicine: Imiphosum

IMIFOS (Imiphosum).

Diethylenimide 2-methyl-thiazolido-3-phosphoric acid.

Synonyms: Marcophan, Marcophan.

White crystalline powder. Very easily soluble in water and alcohol.

Applied for the treatment of patients with erythremia in the advanced stage of the disease, which occurs with splenomegaly and pancycosis.

Intravenous or intramuscular injection of 0.05 g (50 mg) usually every other day. With increased sensitivity and a rapid decrease in the number of leukocytes in the blood, the intervals between injections are increased to 2 to 4 days. The total dose of imiphos on the course of treatment is on average 0.5 - 0.65 g. In case of relapse, it is possible to repeat courses, but not earlier than 6 months after the end of the first course; The drug is prescribed in the above doses.

When imiphos is used, leukopenia and thrombocytopenia can develop. If necessary, cancel the drug and prescribe stimulants leukopoiesis, blood transfusion or leukocyte and platelet mass.

During treatment with imiphos, it is necessary to investigate blood at least twice a week; After the end of the course of treatment, the blood is examined once every 10 to 15 days for 3 months.

Imiphos is contraindicated in patients with severe exhaustion and anemia, leukopenia, thrombocytopenia.

Some patients have refractory to the drug.

Product: in hermetically sealed bottles or ampoules containing 0.05 g (50 mg) of imiphos. Dissolve the drug in 10 - 20 ml of isotonic sodium chloride solution immediately before use.
