Description of the medicine: Platinum (Platinum)

PLATINUM (Platinum).

Cis-Dihydroxydiamine dichloroplatinum (II).

Fine crystalline powder from light yellow to light yellow with a greenish tinge.

Moderately soluble in water and in isotonic sodium chloride solution.

It has antitumor activity (see Cisplatin).

Applied platinum in adults with malignant testicular tumors (teratoblastoma, embryonic cancer, seminoma, etc.), ovarian cancer, head and neck tumors, melanoma.

Introduce platinum intravenously drip (40 drops per minute) at a dose of 80-100 mg per 1 m 2 of the body surface daily for 4 to 5 days. Repeated courses are conducted at intervals of 3 - 4 weeks (in the absence of intoxication phenomena).

Solutions are prepared immediately before use, by dissolving 15 or 30 mg of the drug, respectively, into 5 or 10 ml of sterile water for injection, followed by the addition of 400 ml of isotonic sodium chloride solution.

Possible side effects, precautions and contraindications are the same as with cisplatin.

Form release: lyophilized powder or porous mass (white with a slightly yellowish tint) in ampoules of 0.015 or 0.03 g (15-30 mg) in a package of 10 ampoules.

Storage: List A. In the dark place at a temperature of not more than +10 C.

Note.

Preparations of platinum are absorbed by the skin and mucous membranes.

Work with them should be in rubber gloves and respirators.

If the solutions get on the skin, they should be washed off with a copious amount of warm water.
