CHLORTRIANIZEN (Chlortrianisenum). 1, 1, 2-Trianisyl-2-chloroethylene.
Synonyms: Chlorotrianisen, Chlorotrisin, Chlortrianisoestrolum, Hormonisene, Merbentul, Metace, TACE, Trianisoestrol, etc.
White crystalline powder; odorless. Practically insoluble in water, difficult to dissolve in alcohol.
Chlortrianizen is a synthetic drug with estrogenic activity. Effective when ingested, low toxicity. Compared with other synthetic estrogen drugs (synestrol, diethylstilbestrol), it has a longer duration. Used mainly in the treatment of patients with prostate cancer.
Assign inside of 0,012 g (12 mg = 1 tablet) 2 - 3 times a day. The treatment is carried out for a long time. In case of metastases, additional prednisone is used: in the first 3 days they give 0.012 g (12 mg) 3 times a day, on the 4th - 5th day - 0.012 g 2 times a day, then within 7 days - 0.012 g per day and starting from the 13th day - 0.005 g (5 mg) per day for 40 days. Such courses are held 1 - 2 times a year.
For breast cancer, 48 mg is prescribed per day (1 tablet 4 times). Assign only to patients in late menopause and patients with a remote uterus (due to possible hyperplasia of the mucous membrane of the uterus).
Higher doses for adults inside: single 0,012 g daily 0.048 g
Chlorotrienisen is usually well tolerated. It does not cause nausea, vomiting, edema; little pronounced feminizing effect (usually not observed gynecomastia); sometimes swelling and pains in the mammary gland pass quickly.
Product form: tablets containing 0.012 g (12 mg) of chlorotrienisen.
