Description of the medicine: iodamid (Iodamid)

Iodamid. 3-Acetamidomethyl-5-acetamido-2, 4, 6-triiodobenzoic acid.

Synonym: Acidum ametriodicum.

White crystalline powder; Very slightly soluble in water.

By the basic chemical structure is close to triombrast (acid). It is also a triiodide-containing drug.

It is available as an X-ray contrast agent in the form of iodamide 300 and iodamide-380 for injection (Iodamidum-Z00 et Iodamidum-380 pree injectionibus).

Iodamid-300 is a solution of N-methylglucamine salt of iodamide (65%), and iodamide-380 is a solution of a mixture of sodium and N-methylglucamine salts of iodamide (80%).

Transparent colorless or light yellow liquid; PH 6, 5-7, 7; 1 ml of iodamide-300 contains 3 mg of iodine, 1 ml of iodamide-380 - 380 mg of iodine.

Iodamide is used for angiography (aortography, angiocardiography, peripheral arteriography and phlebography, selective angiography, cerebral angiography) and urography, in patients with vascular, heart, kidney, urinary tract and other organs.

For angiocardiography, 30-50 ml of iodamide-380 (10-30 ml / s) is injected into the peripheral vein and directly into the heart cavity. For aortography apply with retrograde (intra-arterial) administration of iodamide-380 at the rate of 0.5-1.0 ml / kg (25-35 ml / s), with intravenous 1 ml / kg (up to 100 ml per injection), 18 - 20 ml per second.

With peripheral arteriography and phlebography, 15 - 3 ml ml is injected into the artery or vein of the upper limb, and 20-40 ml of iodamide-300 or iodamide-380 (8-12 ml / s), respectively, in the lower extremity.

For cerebral angiography, only iodamide-300 is used. Enter 6-10 ml (5-15 ml / s).

For excretory urography, 20 ml of iodamide-300 or iodamide-380 (0.3-0.5 ml / s) is injected into the vein. Radiography is performed 5 to 12 minutes after the injection. Assign also adults 40 ml iodamid-300 or iodamid-380 (0.3-0.5 ml / s). Intravenous drip is used in adults for a mixture of 80 ml iodamid-300 or iodamid-380 and 80 ml of 5% glucose solution (20-30 drops per minute).

For intracavitary injection, iodamide is diluted with isotonic sodium chloride solution or 5% glucose solution until a 30% solution of iodamide is obtained.

Retrograde is injected into the urinary tract usually 6 - 8 ml (under X-ray visual control). In the bladder is injected 100 - 200 ml.

Possible complications, precautions, contraindications are the same as for triombrast.
