Description of the medicine: Metohexital (Methohexital)
5-allyl-1-methyl-5- (1-methyl-2-pentenyl) barbituric acid.
Available in the form of sodium salt.
Synonyms: Brietal, Brietal.
Means for intravenous anesthesia of ultrashort action. It is used for induction of anesthesia, general anesthesia for short-term surgical interventions, painful diagnostic (endoscopic) procedures.
Enter jet in the form of a 1% solution (at a rate of 1 ml / s), drip in the form of a 0.2% solution (1 drop in 1 s).
The dose for adults for induction of anesthesia is 1 - 1.5 mg / kg (on average for adults ~ 70 mg). Anesthesia at this dose lasts 5 to 7 minutes. To maintain anesthesia, they are administered as a drip infusion.
Release form: on 0,5 g (500 mg) in bottles. Dissolution is carried out ex tempore with water for injection.
