ZOLPEDEM (Zolpidem).

N, N, 6-Trimethyl-2-p-tolyl imidazo [1,2-a] pyridine-3-acetamide (tartrate).

Synonyms: Iwadal, Nitrust, Sanvall, Ivadal, Sanval.

Sleeping drug of short duration of action. Improves the ability to fall asleep, prolongs the duration and improves sleep quality.

Quickly absorbed in the digestive tract, bioavailability of about 70%, C max is 1.6 h, T 1/2 - 1.4-4.5 h; Is excreted by the kidneys in the form of inactive metabolites.

Assign adults, 20-30 minutes before bedtime, at a dose of 0.005-0.01 g (5-10 mg), for elderly patients - 0.005 g. Sleep occurs quickly and usually lasts about 6 hours. The course of treatment is no more than 4 weeks .
