Biperiden (Biperiden).
1- [Bicyclo (2,2,1) hept-5-en-3-yl] -1-phenyl-3-piperidino-1-propanol.

Available in the form of hydrochloride and lactate.

Synonyms: Akineton, Akineton, Dekinet, Ipsatol, Paraden , Tasmolin.

The white crystalline powder. Poorly soluble in water and alcohol.

The structure and pharmacological properties similar to tsiklodol.

Entering into bioavailability of approximately 30%, with max - 1 / 2-2 hours; It is released in the form of metabolites in urine and faeces.

Assign with Parkinsonism and extrapyramidal disorders induced by neuroleptics.

Administered orally or parenterally (intramuscularly or intravenously).

Inside the adult prescribe starting with 0,001 grams (1 mg), 2 times a day; if necessary, the daily dose increased by daily 0.002 g (2 mg) to a maximum daily dose of 0.016 g (2-4 doses); with extrapyramidal disorders caused by antipsychotic drugs, used by 0.001-0.004 g (1-4 mg). Children appoint a rate of 0,001-0,002 (1-2 mg) 1-3 times a day.

Parenterally administered by 0,0025-0,005 g (0.5-1 ml of 0.5% solution); if required, is repeated after administration 30 min.

Possible side effects are basically the same as when applying Cyclodolum. Unlike the latter sometimes marked drowsiness; biperiden injection in some cases cause hypotension.

Enhances effects of other anticholinergics, protivogistiminnyh, anticonvulsant and antiparkinsonian drugs.

Incompatible with alcohol.

Product: tablets of 0.002 g (2 mg) (N. 20) and the retard tablets of 0.004 g (4 mg) (N. 10, 20, 30, 60); 0.5% solution in 1 ml ampoules (N. 5).
