It has a moderate thymoanaleptic effect with a stimulating component.
When taken orally, it is rapidly and completely absorbed, bioavailability is 85%, Cmax - 2 hours, T1 / 2 - 8 hours; excreted by the kidneys mainly unchanged.
Used for depression of various etiologies.
Assign inside (with food) at 0.05 g (50 mg) 2 times a day for several months.
Possible side effects: dizziness, tremors, dry mouth, constipation, urinary retention.
The drug is contraindicated in case of prostatic hypertrophy, pregnancy and lactation.
Use with caution in arterial hypertension and other cardiovascular diseases, liver failure, as well as in driving a car and other potentially dangerous activities.
The drug is incompatible with MAO inhibitors and serotonergic agents (tryptophan, fenfluramine, etc.).
It weakens the antihypertensive effect of clonidine and its analogues and enhances the action of adrenaline and norepinephrine (risk of hypertensive crisis and arrhythmias).
