TIANEPTIN (Tianeptine).

7 - [(3-Chloro-6,11-dihydro-6-methyldibenzo [c, f] [1,2] thiazepin-11-yl) amino] heptanoic acid S, S-dioxide.

Synonym: Coaxil, Coaxil.

Tricyclic antidepressant, which has a thymoanaleptic and anxiolytic effect.

By the mechanism of action is different from other tricyclic antidepressants - enhances neuronal seizure of serotonin.

Quickly and completely absorbed, T1 / 2 - 2,5-3,5 h; Undergoes biotransformation in the liver, is excreted mainly by the kidneys in the form of a metabolite.

Applied with depressive states of various etiology: neurotic and reactive nature, anxiety-depressive conditions (including somatic diseases), with alcohol withdrawal syndrome.

Assign inside (before eating) to 0.0125 g (12.5 mg) 3 times a day (persons over 70 years and with renal failure - 2 times a day).

Usually the drug is well tolerated. Dyspepsia, dry mouth, dizziness, headache, sleep disorders, decreased reaction rates, fainting, asthenia, nightmares, tremors, arrhythmias, muscle pains, etc. are possible.

The drug is not prescribed together with MAO inhibitors, in pregnancy, children under the age of 15 years.

During the drug intake, one should not engage in activities requiring increased attention and rapid physical and mental reactions.
