TOLMETIN (Tolmetin).

Sodium salt of 1-methyl-5- (4-methylbenzoyl) -1H-nifrole-2-acetic acid.

Synonym: Tolektin, Tolectin.

White crystalline powder. Soluble in water.

Has anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic effect.

Quickly and completely absorbed, Cmax is 1-1.5 h, T1 / 2 - 5h; Is biotransformation in the liver, excreted by the kidneys mainly in the form of metabolites.

Applied with rheumatoid and psoriatic arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, extraarticular rheumatism, febrile conditions.

Assign inside (after eating) to adults for 0.4 g 3 times a day (up to 2 grams per day), children 15-20 mg / kg per day (in 3 divided doses).

Possible side effects: allergic reactions, dyspepsia, bronchospasm, peripheral edema, impaired renal and hepatic function, drowsiness.

The drug is contraindicated in peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum, ulcerative colitis, bronchial obstructive diseases, violations of the liver and kidneys, heart failure, arterial hypertension.

Strengthens the effects of anticoagulants, antiaggregants, as well as side effects of other NSAIDs, glucocorticosteroids, preparations of gold and lithium, alcohol; Weakens the action of diuretics.
