Description of the medicine: Tolmetin (Tolmetin)
1-methyl-5- (4-methylbenzoyl) -1H-nifrol-2-acetic acid sodium salt.
Synonym: Tolectin, Tolectin.
White crystalline powder. Soluble in water.
It has anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic effects.
Quickly and completely absorbed, Cmax is 1-1.5 hours, T1 / 2 - 5 hours; undergoes biotransformation in the liver, excreted by the kidneys mainly in the form of metabolites.
Used for rheumatoid and psoriatic arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, extra-articular rheumatism, and febrile conditions.
Assign inside (after eating) to adults of 0.4 g 3 times a day (up to 2 g per day), children 15-20 mg / kg per day (in 3 divided doses).
Possible side effects: allergic reactions, dyspepsia, bronchospasm, peripheral edema, impaired renal and hepatic function, drowsiness.
The drug is contraindicated in cases of gastric and duodenal ulcer, ulcerative colitis, bronchial obstruction, impaired liver and kidney function, heart failure, and arterial hypertension.
Enhances the effects of anticoagulants, antiplatelet agents, as well as side effects of other NSAIDs, glucocorticosteroids, gold and lithium preparations, alcohol; weakens the effect of diuretics.
Method of release: tablets of 0.2 and 0.6 g; capsules of 0.4 g.
