ETODOLAC (Etodolac).

1,8-Diethyl-1,3,4,9-tetrahydropyrano [3,4-b] indole-1-acetic acid.

Synonym: Elderin, Elderin.

White crystalline substance. Insoluble in water, soluble in organic solvents.

Has anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic effect.

It inhibits the formation of prostaglandins.

Quickly and completely absorbed, Cmax is 1-2 h, T1 / 2 - 3.5-10 h; Is biotransformation in the liver, excreted by the kidneys mainly in the form of metabolites.

The main indications: rheumatoid arthritis, rheumatism, ankylosing spondylitis, osteoarthritis, pain syndrome.

Assign inside (during eating) to 0.2-0.3 g 2 times a day (up to 2 g per day).

The main side effects: dyspepsia, ulcerogenic effect, bronchospasm, dysuria, oppression hemopoiesis, skin allergic reactions.

The drug is contraindicated for peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum, pregnancy, breast-feeding.
