Description of the medicine: Levocabastine (Levocabastine)
(-) - [1 (cis), 3α, 4β] -1- [4-Cyano-4- (4-fluorophenyl) cyclohexyl] -3-methyl-4-phenyl-4-piperidinecarboxylic acid hydrochloride.
Synonym: Histimet, Gistimet.
Blocker of H 1 histamine receptors for topical use.
After instillation into the eyes, it is partially absorbed, T Ѕ is about 40 hours; excreted by the kidneys unchanged.
Used for allergic rhinitis and conjunctivitis.
Instillation in each eye, 1 drop or intranasally - 2 inhalations in each nasal passage 2 times a day. The course of treatment is 10-15 days (up to 1 month).
Possible side effects: irritation of the conjuncture or nasal mucosa, visual impairment, headache, dizziness, drowsiness, cough, myalgia, etc.
The drug is contraindicated in case of impaired renal function, pregnancy, under the age of 12 years.
When using eye drops, wearing contact lenses is not recommended.
It is forbidden to use the solution when its color changes.
Release form: 0.05% solution (eye drops) in 4 ml dropper bottles; 0.05% spray for intranasal administration in 10 ml vials with a nebulizer.
