Mucolytic and expectorant, similar in structure to acetylcysteine.

Causes activation of sialic transferase (the enzyme of goblet cells of bronchial mucosa), which results in normalization of the ratio of acidic and neutral sialomucines to bronchial secretion, restoration of viscosity and reduction of mucus secretion; Promotes the regeneration of the bronchial mucosa.

Applied with diseases of the lungs, accompanied by the accumulation of viscous sputum (acute and chronic bronchitis, tracheobronchitis, asthmatic bronchitis, etc.), with inflammatory diseases of the middle ear and paranasal sinuses, as well as in preparation for bronchoscopy and bronchography.

Assign adults to 1 tablespoon 5% syrup (0.75 g) 3 times a day or 1-2 capsules 2-3 times a day (depending on the course of the process and effectiveness).

Children under 2 years of age are given on a teaspoon of 2.5% syrup 2 times a day, from 2 years to 5 years - 1 teaspoon 2.5% syrup 2 times a day, 5 years and over - 1 teaspoonful 5 % Syrup or 2 teaspoons 2.5% syrup 3 times a day.

The drug is usually well tolerated. In some cases, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, gastrointestinal bleeding, allergic reactions (skin rash, Quincke's edema, etc.) are possible.

Carbocysteine ​​is contraindicated in peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum in the stage of exacerbation, impaired renal function, in the first trimester of pregnancy.

Enhances the effects of glucocorticosteroids and theophylline; Antitussive and atropine-like drugs weaken the effect of carbocysteine.

Forms of release: 2.5% syrup for children in bottles of 100, 125 and 200 ml, 5% syrup in bottles of 100, 110, 125, 150, 200 and 300 ml or 9% - 100 ml; Capsules at 0.375 g (N. 8, 10, 20); Tablets chewing on 0,75 g (N. 20); Granules in bags of 5 g (2.7 g).
