EPOETIN ALPHA (Epoetin alfa).

Synonyms: Eprex, Erythrostim for injection, Eprex, Erythrostimum pro injection.

A glycoprotein containing 165 amino acid residues.

Stimulating mitosis and differentiation of erythroid progenitor cells, increases the number of erythrocytes and increases the level of hemoglobin.

When administered subcutaneously, bioavailability is 25%, C max is 12-18 x, T S is up to 24 hours (with intravenous administration, 5-6 hours).

Applied with anemia of various origins (with chronic renal failure, hemodialysis, HIV infection against zidovudine, cytostatics, premature neonates, etc.).

Assign subcutaneously or intravenously (struino) at first usually 50-75 units / kg (up to 200 units / kg) 3 times a week, maintaining a dose of 30 units / kg 3 times a week.

Possible side effects: increased blood pressure, seizures, thrombocytosis, thrombocytopenia, thromboembolic complications, hyperkalemia, iron deficiency states, allergic reactions, etc.
