GREPAFLOKSATSIN (Grepafloxacin).

(±) -1-Cyclopropyl-6-fluoro-1,4-dihydro-5-methyl-7- (3-methyl-1-piperazinyl) -4-oxo-3-quinolinecarboxylic acid.

Synonym: Raksar, Raxar.

On chemical structure is very close to ciprofloxacin and moxifloxacin. As these drugs is a cyclopropyl group in the molecule. From ciprofloxacin content differs only in the molecule two methyl groups, but has a longer duration of action.

Quickly and completely absorbed in the digestive tract, bioavailability of about 70%, the T ½ after repeated receptions) - 10-13 hours; easily penetrates the tissues and organs; biotransformation in the liver, is excreted in bile and urine.
