Description medications: Estimal (Aestimalum)

ESTIMAL (Aestimalum). 5-Ethyl-5-izoamilbarbiturovaya acid:

Synonyms: Amobarbital, Amytal.

On chemical structure differs from the previously released drug barbamyl (amobarbital sodium) that is not a sodium salt, and a suitable acid (at position 6 barbituric cycle contains O instead ONa).

The white crystalline powder. Unlike barbamyl readily soluble in water, estimal slightly soluble in water. Slowly absorbed and acts slightly longer than Barbamyl.

Assign inside adult for 15 - 30 minutes before sleep at a dose of 0.1 - 0.2, the hypnotic effect occurs within 0.5 h -1, lasts 6 - 8 hours.

Possible side effects are the same as when receiving other barbiturates.
