Description medications: nevirapine (Nevirapine)

NVP (Nevirapine).

11-Cyclopropyl-5,11-dihydro-4-methyl-6H-dipyrido [3,2-b, 2,3'-e] [1,4] diazepin-6-one.

Synonym: Viramune, Viramune.

By binding to the reverse transcriptase of HIV-1, inhibit RNA and DNA-dependent polymerase reaction that leads to the destruction of the catalytic site of the enzyme.

Well absorbed in the digestive tract, bioavailability of about 90%, C max - 4 h, T ½ - 25-45 hours; biotransformation in the liver, kidneys predominantly displayed.

Applied in the treatment of HIV-1 infection.

Assign inside of 0.2 grams per day for 2 weeks, then at the same dose every 12 hr.

Possible side effects: skin rash, hepatitis, dyspepsia, rhabdomyolysis, drowsiness, myalgia, granulocytopenia.

Contraindications: breastfeeding.

Method of issuance: pills to 0.2 g (N. 10, 60, 100), 1% of the oral suspension in bottles of 240 ml.
