Phenylbutazone (Butadionum). 1, 2-Diphenyl-4- butilpirazolidindion- 3, 5.

Synonyms: Alindor, Antadol, Arthril, Arihrizon , Artrizin, Artropan, Azobutil, Butalan, Butalgin, Butalidon, Butapirazol, Butartril, Butazolidin, Butazone, Butofar, Butosal, Butylpyrin, Colbutan, Curozoladin, Delbutan, Deltabutanyl, Dibutone, Diphenylbutazon, Elmedal, Eributazone, Fenibutasan, Fenilbutazona, Fenylbutazon, Mephabutazon, Merizone, Nadozone, Novophenyl, Panazone, Phebutan, Phenbutazol, Phenopyrine, Phenylbutazon, Phenylbutazonum, Rheumaphen, Rubatone, Sedazole, Todalgil, Zolaphen and others.

White or white with a slightly yellowish white powder. Practically insoluble in water, it is soluble in alcohol; soluble in sodium hydroxide solution. According to the chemical structure of phenylbutazone is derived antipyrine and close to amidopirina. It has analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory effect; but antiinflammatory activity significantly exceeds antipyrine and aminopyrine and therefore considered as one of the main representatives of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.

Phenylbutazone is a relatively strong inhibitor of prostaglandin biosynthesis, surpassing acetylsalicylic acid in this respect.

The drug is rapidly absorbed and the relatively long time is in the blood.

Applied for the treatment of rheumatism in acute, acute, sub-acute and chronic rheumatoid arthritis, infectious nonspecific polyarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, gout, psoriatic arthritis, erythema nodosum, small chorea.

Phenylbutazone be used in combination with hormonal therapy (corticosteroids) hingaminom (cm.).

When arthritis of various etiologies phenylbutazone quickly reduces pain and inflammatory response; it also relieves gout attacks, reduces blood levels of uric acid. There are performance butadiona with thrombophlebitis of the lower extremities and hemorrhoidal veins: use of the drug causes a decrease in pain, swelling, redness and a significant improvement in general condition (ointment containing phenylbutazone can be used in these diseases). There are also indications of a positive effect butadiona with lupus erythematosus. Good effect (decrease of exudation and pain) is marked with iridotsiklitah.

Phenylbutazone Assign inside during or after eating. Single dose for adults 0.1 - 0.15 g; during the day, drug taking 2 - 3 times; daily dose of 0.45 - 0.6, after the onset of noticeable improvement in the dose can be gradually reduced to 0.3 - 0.2, the children (aged 6 months) prescribed 3 - 4 times a day to 0.01 - 0 1 g depending on age. The duration of treatment depends on the case and can reach 2 - 5 weeks or more.

Higher doses butadiona for adults inside: single 0.2 g daily 0.6 g

When treating butadionom are relatively often have side effects: fluid retention, nausea, vomiting, into the stomach pains (the drug has ulcerogenic action), more frequent stools, skin rash, pruritus, urticaria, leukopenia (agranulocytosis) and anemia, hemorrhage (hematuria ), neuritis and others.
