Description of the medicine: Timentin (Timentin)
A combined preparation containing ticarcillin (a semi-synthetic antibiotic of the penicillin group) in combination with clavulanic acid.
Active against a wide range of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria (including producing and non-producing β-lactamases).
It is used for infections of the lower respiratory organs (including nosocomial pneumonia), abdominal and pelvic organs, with sepsis, sinusitis, severe infections of the skin and soft tissues, bones and joints.
Assign intravenously to adults, 3.1 g every 4-6 hours, for children with mild to moderate infections - 0.2 g / kg per day (in 4 divided doses) and for severe ones - 0.3 g / kg per day ( in 6 receptions).
Possible side effects are the same as piperacillin.
Release form: powder for injection solutions in bottles (1.5 or 3 g of ticarcillin sodium salt and, respectively, 0.1 or 0.2 g of clavulanic acid potassium salt).
