LIBEXIN (Libexin). 3- (b, b-Diphenylethyl) -5- (b-piperidinoethyl) -1,2,4-oxadiazole hydrochloride.

Synonyms: Glybexin, Glibexin, Prenoxdiazin hydrochloride, Tibexin, Toparten, Varoxil.

White or almost white crystalline powder.

Synthetic antitussive drug. The antitussive activity is approximately equal to codeine; Do not depress breathing. Does not cause addiction. It has local anesthetic and spasmolytic activity. With chronic bronchitis, anti-inflammatory effect is noted.

Applied as an antitussive drug for catarrh of the upper respiratory tract, acute and chronic bronchitis, bronchopneumonia, bronchial asthma, emphysema, etc. It can be used before bronchoscopy and bronchography (in combination with atropine).

Assign adults to adults for 0.1 g (1 tablet) 3 - 4 times a day, in severe cases - 0.2 g 3 - 4 times a day; Children, depending on their age - on 0,025 - 0,05 g (1 / 4-1 / 2 tablets) 3 - 4 times a day. To avoid anesthesia, the oral mucosa is swallowed without chewing.
